Essential Applications for Your N80 And NSeries Device
I’ve been meaning to work on this list for the longest time but never had the time to blog it. Well better late than never! Here is my list of essential applications for the N80. The vast majority of these applications will also work on other NSeries Devices so keep an eye out for the specific version for your device. Also note that a few of these applications are in Beta stages so if you don’t mind running into some bugs every so often, go ahead and download them for your device. I have however, been using these applications for 1-2 months now without any real hiccups so they should note pose any serious problems for you as well.
Finally, most of these applications are free while they are in the beta stages, once the final versions are released, there is a possibility fees will be imposed. If you find the applications of use to you, please go ahead and purchase them; you will be encouraging the developers to develop more essential software for the Symbian community.

Hi,
in my opinion, a search application is also very important:

What about a File Management program like FExplorer or SExplorer, or the like. In fact, I've been wanting someone to do a little article on the three leading ones and compare them. Have you any opinion on these?
What about some cool games like SkyForce?

Great list!
I would add Y-browser as filemanager:

And a .mod / .sid player:

Works 100% on the N93

Hi guys,
Thanks for all the comments. Rest assured I will get cracking on posting more about the applications that you have mentioned. Good to know that there are so many Symbian Entusiasts out there!
AgileMessenger is not free anymore. Skyforce never was, Enrico.
Great Site..
Question for you, when using the nokia podcastinh application, I tried to download some mp4 podcasts from bbc and skynews but got the message that they are not supported.. Any ideas how to view mp4 on the N80 ??,
Fergal
Hi Fergal,
Thanks for the compliment. Unfortunately, I don't know why you are unable to play the MP4 files with the podcasting application. I managed to download some video files from the NSeries Website and those played as normal. Can anyone else out there help Fergal out?
Hi,
I am a little frustrated after changing to a new memory stick. I see there is no way I can take the applications installed on my old memory stick to the new one. I am surprised to see that no one has ever questioned this on net. There is this question asked at rare places without anyone having any answer. I had some games and applications which came default on the nokia memory stick. Now I don't even find the application (mbounce sudoku for eg.) on any site so that I can install on my new memory card.
You could add SymSMB to your list.
