How to Get Mobile TV On Your NSeries For Free
Thanks to the guys at Web and Blog, I recently discovered a cool site called ZooVision to watch streaming media on your NSeries device. In their own words -
"ZooVision is a mobile video 3gp / Windows Media streaming content aggregator that is changing the way people use their wireless phones and access entertainment. We stream on-demand videos and audio customized to the mobile experience. We believe that the mobile customer demands a video experience that is delivered quickly and of the highest quality. Our on-demand model lets subscribers view music videos, cartoons and niche content right on their mobile phones and wireless PDAs. ZooVision partners with content owners and creators to create a comprehensive offering."
It's pretty easy to get started. Point your devices web browser over at http://www.zoovision.com/ and select the "I'm using a mobile device link. Pick a program that you'd like to view (News, Weather, cartoons etc) and it will activate your Real player application and you are good to go. Remember to choose the right Rreal player connection/settings otherwise the video might not stream correctly. They have a pretty good collection of content from news, weather, classic B & W movies, cartoons (think Popeye) , as well as a Internet radio station.
I have tested out their services and it works pretty smoothly on my N80 (slight artefact's but okay visuals and audio). You do need have a unlimited 3G plan or wifi connectivity to view the content otherwise expect to incur a bomb in traffic fees.
UPDATE: Some users have mentioned that they have had troubles trying to connect to the service. Apparently. some operators do not allow support streaming services and may block the required ports. For more information, please go to the comments page.)

Frist off, Fantastic Blogg Really helped me with alot of stuff with my N80 Secondly Nice find but on my N80 it hangs at "loading" on Realplayer =(
Hi, thanks for the compliment. Good to know that my blog helps. With regards to zoovision, I like to find out if you changed the real player network settings to match your web access settings. Meaning that if you loaded the site using a wi fi connection and tried to click a link to a video file, was your real player set to stream the file using wi fi as well? Check real player>settings> network. I managed to stream video using either wi fi or 3g.
i've tried it! if i use wlan connection to click on link, then i can't use the same connection to open 3gp files with realplayer!! it's so strange...!
however...congratulation for your blog david...it's so usefull!
regards....

Hi guys,
I've sent an e-mail to their support page. Hopefully they can help us out. Cheers!
Thanks David for featuring our site on your blog!
While I've only tested our site with an N80 at the Nokia store in Chicago the handset was connected to the net via wifi I didn't look at the settings on the device. But I can point out a few things to check to make it work for you.
First off your carrier needs to support streaming and not block any of the required ports. It seems that more and more carriers are allowing streaming via there connections. For wifi you also need to make sure that the required streaming ports are open. If you can stream quicktime or real content on your computer via the same connection you should be all set for it to work on your N80. The next thing to check on the N80 is how Real Player is connecting to the net. Make sure that your access point is set to the type of connection that you want to use. On other Nokias like the E61 I have noticed that if you move up the bit rate for streaming in the Real Player settings screen to about 140kbps for a wifi connection you should have plenty of head room to stream content on our site.
One test to try is our lowest bit rate encoded sample which is on this page: http://www.zoovision.com/mobile_specialty.html select the ZooSpeed video and see if it works for you. The total overhead for this video is about 45kbps this will tell you if bandwidth is an issue for you with the other videos. The quality isn't the greatest for this sample but it's a good test. So if this video plays then we know it's an issue with the connection speed.
After you try out these things let me know your results. The N80 is a great device and I've been thinking about getting one myself. But since it's 3g access won't work here in the US and the n95 is coming soon I might hold off and get the n95. Thanks for checking out our site and thanks again David for featuring it!
